You’ve heard all the excitement about social media, but how can you use it as a health coach marketing strategy? Where do you start?  Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, You Tube, the list seems endless.  Before getting overwhelmed and deciding it is all way too much work, lets look at the facts.  The top 3 social networking sites are Facebook, Twitter and Linked In.  You Tube is not technically a social networking site but we will put it in this group since it is one of the most highly visited sites on the web and video is the most interactive form of communication.  How many times have you gone to facebook swearing that you were only going to spend 5 minutes updating your status and a You Tube video grabbed you and next thing you know it’s an hour later?

Done right, these four sites are all you need to create your social media presence.  You can use a few online tools to integrated these sites with your website and come up with a plan to manage all this without wasting all your time online.  You need to have some sort of plan, otherwise you will just jump from place to place, never getting anything accomplished, or worse, get completely frustrated and just give up.

This summer, every monday, I will explore one of these areas and give you a few action steps that should get you pointed in the right direction.  Social media is the best way to start building your tribe.  Seth Godin talks about tribes and that is what we need to think about in terms of building our business.  Who do we want to serve?  Who do we want to work with?  Who do we want our social circle to be?  This is our tribe, and we have the ability to choose where our gifts are best used and most needed.
